🛠️ Why ArmyDrop Exists

ArmyDrop started as a personal passion project, a way to make Warhammer 40K list building more visual, more fun, and easier to share. I’d seen and heard from players in the community create these beautifully stylised visual army lists using tools like Paint, Canva, PowerPoint - whatever they had on hand. I’ve always loved the look of stylised army lists with images, but there wasn’t an easy tool to build them.

As someone with years of experience in software development (and a longtime player!), I wanted to apply that skillset to something I care deeply about. What began as a tool for myself quickly became something I realised others in the community might find helpful too.

🔁 Respecting IP & Supporting the Hobby

Everything that makes this hobby great, from the units and artwork to the data, is thanks to Games Workshop. I’ve made every effort to credit IP ownership clearly, and I take absolutely no credit for the creation of any unit data, artwork, or model designs. This project is not affiliated with or endorsed by Games Workshop in any way.

ArmyDrop isn’t here to replace or compete with anything GW offers, it’s meant to complement it. If anything, I hope this tool helps bring more people into the hobby, makes it easier to build and share armies, and ultimately drives more interest and support toward the universe Games Workshop / Warhammer has built.

ArmyDrop is never planned to be more than what it is: a quick, easy, commerical-free, drag-and-drop army builder focused on ideation and visual list sharing. For detailed rules, unit stats, and official data, I recommend using Warhammer’s own official apps.

🚀 What’s Next

Right now, ArmyDrop supports most factions, but more factions are on the way. I’m also working on features like custom cards, locking function, improved mobile interaction, and legend support. It’s still early days, but I’m excited about where it can go, and it means the world to see others getting value from it already.

Thanks again for being here. Whether you’re building for a tournament, sharing for fun, or just tinkering on a lunch break — I hope it helps.
